Discount intended to clear sale books

The University Bookstore is offering a deep discount on thousands of sale books, with prices set at 99 cents for paperbacks and $1.99 for hardcover volumes.

Marketing manager Martin Deck says the sale is intended to clear all of the store’s sale books.

“We are trying to free up some shelf space,” he said Thursday in the store’s Vanier Hall location. “We’re just glad to be able to offer our clients such a great deal.”

While there are thousands of titles, fiction, non-fiction, and poetry on a huge range of topics, Deck notes the supply is limited.

One-day sale to offer savings on faculty-themed sweatshirts

The University Bookstore is offering a 10 per cent discount on all sweatshirts emblazoned with program and faculty names today—Tuesday, February 26—at its kiosk in the CAW Student Centre.

“The Faculty Sweatshirts are our most popular item of clothing, but we’ve noticed that some students don’t seem to have one,” says marketing manager Martin Deck. “So we thought we’d offer a discount for one day only to see if we can fix that!”

Bookstore offers savings Friday for faculty and staff

Get your holiday shopping done on campus—the University Bookstore is offering a 10 per cent discount for UWindsor faculty and staff Friday, December 14.

The 10 per cent discount applies to all purchases, excluding course materials, textbooks and computers. It even will reduce further the giftware and games already on sale. And the sale applies to purchases both from the Bookstore’s location in Vanier Hall and its kiosk in the CAW Student Centre.

Buy texts now to avoid Bookstore rush in January

The University Bookstore’s temporary home in Vanier Hall may mean some cramped quarters at the beginning of the semester, says marketing coordinator Martin Deck.

He advises students who have already registered for their winter courses to think ahead and purchase their texts before heading home for the holidays.

“If it gets too crowded during the start of next semester, we may need to restrict access to the store, meaning a line-up for patrons to get in,” he says. “I hope that students will avoid the rush by coming in once their exams are completed.”

Sale to celebrate grand opening of temporary Bookstore location today

The University of Windsor Bookstore will celebrate its grand re-opening in Vanier Hall today—Monday, November 26—with a grand sale to match the occasion.

The sale features a promotion of 50 per cent off the price of books that have already been marked down.

“Here’s one example of a book,” Bookstore marketing manager Martin Deck said. “A Prayer for Owen Meany by John Irving that was originally priced at $22, our regular sale price being $6.99, and the final half-off price brings it to $3.50.”

There is also a new item available just for the occasion.

Bookstore kiosk offering Black Friday savings to UWindsor employees

The Friday after US Thanksgiving, known as Black Friday, is traditionally the beginning of the holiday shopping season, says Martin Deck, marketing manager of the University Bookstore.

“We wanted to find a way to honour that tradition and save our loyal customers the hassle of driving stateside to shop,” he says.

The Bookstore will offer University of Windsor faculty and staff a 10 per cent discount on all clothing and giftware at its kiosk in the CAW Student Centre for one day only—Friday, November 23—from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Month’s end to bring hiatus at University Bookstore

If you haven’t stocked up at the University Bookstore, you’re running out of time.

The store will close its operations in the Odette Building at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 31, and will re-open on Monday, November 12, in Vanier Hall’s Winclare lounge. Marketing manager Martin Deck encourages customers to buy course materials and school supplies before end-of-day Wednesday, but notes that online ordering will remain operational through the transition period.

“We are also waiving all shipping charges for orders placed in the month of November,” he adds.

The University Bookstore is urging its customers to purchase necessary course materials or supplies by the end of the month, when it will move into a new temporary location on the upper level of Vanier Hall.

The store will close its operations in the Odette Building at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, October 31, and will re-open on Monday, November 12, in Vanier Hall’s Winclare lounge. The move will accommodate the expansion of the Odette School of Business.

Bookstore offering savings on general reading

The University Bookstore is offering a 30 per cent discount on all general reading books—including already sale-priced items—through October 5.

“We have thousands of titles in every genre,” says marketing manager Martin Deck. “Come on down and stock your shelves—or get an early jump on your holiday gift shopping.”

All general reading books are now on the main floor and basement of the Bookstore, located at the corner of Wyandotte and California streets in the Odette Building.

University Bookstore cozying up in preparation for relocation

In preparation for its move late this fall, the University Bookstore has already started to consolidate its operations, redistributing the general interest books on its second floor to its ground floor and lower levels.

“We wanted to see how well we will be able to cope with the smaller space,” says marketing manager Martin Deck. “The test is proving to ourselves and our clients that we can work with a reduced footprint.”
