The University of Windsor Campus Community Police are working closely with Windsor Police Services with their investigation of an altercation originating at the University Pub that resulted in the injury of three young men early Friday morning. The University Pub is now closed until further notice.
Prospective students and their families visiting campus Friday for Spring Open House are “our special guests,” says Zora Savic, events coordinator in the liaison office.
She says students, faculty and staff have been busily preparing for the event, one of the most important in the student recruitment process.
“We have learned that coming to our campus, meeting with our people and getting the UWindsor experience is one of the best ways to convince high school students to choose to come here,” she says.

The Centre for Teaching and Learning invites applications for travel grants to participate in teaching and learning conferences. The centre particularly invites applications for travel to the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) Academy and the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE) annual conferences.

The Centre for Teaching and Learning offers a new electronic tool to simplify the process of requesting its services.
The electronic service order form enables instructors and staff to remotely request CTL services like audio-visual setup for a campus event, photography, studio space, DVD duplication, and video encoding, editing, and recording. Users will also receive an automated confirmation e-mail to better track their requests.
Campus Recreation is offering UWindsor employees a chance to get in on the fun of the latest fitness craze, Hoopnotica, with a free class on Monday, March 12.
“This class not only builds core strength, but is also a low-impact cardiovascular workout that tones the entire body,” says Sandra Ondracka, manager of Campus Recreation.
Monday’s one-hour class begins at 5 p.m. in the Multipurpose Room, St. Denis Centre.
The session continues until April 16; registration is $35.40 plus HST for faculty and staff – hoops supplied!

Students with an idea for a great new technology, innovation or start-up can take it to the next level through a video competition hosted by Ontario Centres of Excellence.
The contest, open to all post-secondary students enrolled at an Ontario university or college, is a chance to put their ideas in front of the movers and shakers of the science and technology industry.
Feminist blogger, radio host and ad-buster Jennie Thunder will make three public appearances in Windsor on Tuesday, March 6.
At 10 a.m., she will analyze advertisements we see every day and offer tools to continue the critique outside the classroom in her presentation “Rethink, Reclaim: Occupy the Media,” in Alumni Hall’s McPherson Lounge.
At 1 p.m., Thunder will engage in an interactive discussion, “Storming the Media,” on her efforts to harness the media to project her own feminist voice, also in Alumni Hall’s McPherson Lounge.
