Office of Open Learning extends deadline for OER ACE grants

The Office of Open Learning has extended the deadline for the OER ACE Grants to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 20, in response to a number of requests for extensions.

“There are a lot of people with really good and interesting ideas about how to create and use open educational resources in their teaching, and we want to ensure that there is enough time to put together the best possible application at such a busy time of the year,” said Nick Baker, director of the Office of Open Learning.

New brown bag lunch group invites UWindsor community to explore critical digital pedagogies in higher education

The Office of Open Learning is launching a new Book Club to discuss critical issues in online, open, and technology-enabled teaching and learning.

These are flexible, informal gatherings intended to bring together members of the UWindsor community to have conversations that advance the pedagogy of online and blended teaching and learning, while discussing books by leading thinkers in the field. Wherever possible, these books will be free and openly licenced.

Funding available to develop and adopt open educational resources

The Office of Open Learning has released its latest call for proposals for funding to support faculty interested in incorporating open educational resources (OERs) into their teaching.

Open Educational Resources include open textbooks, videos, images and music, simulations, modules, lesson plans, and even entire courses, all openly licenced to allow them to be legally used and adapted freely to fit your context.
