With a foundation in environmental engineering, Christina Ure knows the future is hers to build.
That’s because her degree from the University of Windsor makes her adept in the valuable art of solving problems.
“As an environmental engineer, we do a lot of problem-solving work for some of the world’s biggest issues,” Ure said.
“That gives us a really good base for other fields – whether that’s business, law or medicine.”
Conversations on conservation will generate energy Thursday in the CAW Student Centre.
Newly established annual IT Services Awards initiative recognizes efforts of IT staff members and supporters.
IT Services staff racked up more than 3,600 km in commutes during the Bike to Work program this summer.
The installation of a new service station on the UWindsor campus will make it easier to commute by bicycle.
The University’s environmental advocate is encouraging participation in Earth Hour.
How green is our tally? Paul Henshaw hopes to provide an answer to that question by using the Sustainability Tracking, Assessment and Rating System (STARS stars.aashe.org) to quantify the state of the University of Windsor.
To that end, the UWindsor environmental advocate has circulated a questionnaire asking faculty members whether their research or courses are focused on, or related to, sustainability.
An online survey of the ways UWindsor faculty, students and staff get to campus will help researchers to measure the University’s overall environmental impact.
The questionnaire asks participants about their trips to campus to study or work, and whether they travel by car, bus, bicycle or on foot. Participants may enter a draw to win one of five prizes worth $100 as UWinCARD credit or a University Bookstore gift certificate.
