Louise Plamte

Campus meeting leads to lifetime commitment

Louise (Roy) Plante (BA 1968) had one very important pre-requisite to fulfill during her time as a student at the University of Windsor—she couldn’t get married until she had a degree.

The busy honours French and Spanish student was on a full scholarship away from her home in Port Arthur, and her mother was determined that there would be no ring on her finger until there was a diploma in her hand.

“She turned out to be a very nice lady,” says Ray Plante of Louise’s mother, his eventual mother-in-law. “But she meant it.”

Tours Tuesday and Wednesday to provide introduction to Leddy Library

Start the school year on the right foot (and then the left) with a tour of the Leddy Library and see what you’ve been missing!

Tours leave from the building’s lobby every hour on the hour from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, September 19 and 20.

The tour takes about 20 minutes and includes a walk around the Leddy Main and West buildings. Guides stop at service points to explain borrowing policies, collections and help services.
