Lancer track and field athletes will compete this weekend in the Ontario University Athletics championship meet, hosted by York University in Toronto Friday and Saturday, March 18 and 19. The women’s team is ranked 10th in the country by U Sports, the national organization of university sport.
Middle distance runner Sydney Pattison, thrower Anthony Atkinson, sprinter Noah Leinweber, and pole vaulter Nojah Parker are among the Lancers profiled in a preview of the meet on the OUA website.
The men’s curling team will travel to Guelph for the OUA championship tournament Friday and Saturday, March 18 and 19.
Men’s basketball exited the playoffs Wednesday with a 101-77 first-round loss to the Lakehead Thunderwolves. Thomas Kennedy led the Lancers with 19 points and 16 rebounds.
Women’s basketball dropped a 77-67 decision to the Guelph Gryphons to end its post-season Wednesday. Guard Reine Ndome had 23 points and eight rebounds to lead Windsor.
Men’s hockey suffered a 4-2 upset at the hands of the York Lions in the first round of the OUA playoffs on Wednesday. Ryan Barbosa and Sean Olson scored the Lancer goals; goaltender Nathan Torchia made 40 saves on 43 shots.
