Engineering professor Rupp Carriveau will discuss his research on a unique solution for storing the wind energy generated by turbines that spin during off-peak hours when he appears on CJAM 99.1 FM this afternoon.

Dr. Carriveau is working with industry partner Hydrostor, on a solution that involves converting energy from turbines into compressed air which would be stored in large inflatable bags moored to the bottom of the lake. When the energy is needed, the compressed air would be released to the surface where it would be regenerated back into electricity. Carriveau and his team were recently in Toronto to test the effectiveness of the system in Lake Ontario.
