CUPE 1393 collective agreement ratified

A Collective Agreement has been successfully ratified by CUPE Local 1393, representing 260 technical, professional and skilled trades workers at the University of Windsor.

CUPE 1393 members accepted the agreement in a vote on October 1, and the University’s Board of Governors also successfully ratified the agreement during a special meeting on October 5.

UWindsor President Alan Wildeman expressed his appreciation for the successful completion of bargaining.

“This contract represents an agreement that balances the need to do the best we can for our employees and to be fiscally responsible, along with everyone’s commitment to create the most supportive environment possible for our students,” he said. “I’m very pleased we have reached seven agreements within the past 12 months, and am grateful to all those who participate in negotiations.”

Highlights of the agreement are available on the collective bargaining Web site.
