Windsor tops Carleton to claim provincial championship in women’s basketball

The Lancer women’s basketball team is back on top, winning its fourth Ontario University Athletics title in five years after downing the Carleton Ravens 56-51 at the St. Denis Centre on Saturday.

Jessica Clemençon’s 18 points led Windsor; Miah-Marie Langlois notched 14 points and 10 rebounds for the only double-double of the contest. Carleton’s Elizabeth Roach topped all scorers with 22 points.

The Ravens fought back from a 15-point halftime deficit to pull within three late in the game, but were held off by the league’s best defence. Read a full game summary at goLancers.ca.

Both these teams are among the eight who will compete in the Canadian Interuniversity Sport title tournament in Regina March 15 to 17, where the Lancers will seek their third straight Bronze Baby trophy as national champions.
