Two Lancers join record class of university prospects in Canadian Football League draft

Two alumni of the Lancer football program were among a record 59 players from Canadian Interuniversity Sport selected in the CFL Canadian draft Tuesday.

The Toronto Argonauts selected wide receiver Evan Pszczonak in the fifth round—42nd overall—and the Ottawa RedBlacks took defensive lineman Stephon Miller at the top of the sixth round, 46th overall.

The 59 CIS players chosen out of a total of 65 picks shattered the previous record set last year, 44 out of 60.

Pszczonak finished the 2013 season fifth in the country with 42 catches good for 646 receiving yards and six touchdowns, and was named an all-star by Ontario University Athletics. Miller had 31 tackles and six sacks in eight regular-season games.
