Basketball doubleheader centrepiece of Lancer weekend

The first home action of 2016 for Lancer men’s and women’s basketball, Saturday in the St. Denis Centre, is at the centre of an exciting weekend of action in varsity sport.

The basketball teams will open the weekend on the road, meeting the Gryphons in Guelph on Friday before returning to Windsor to host the Algoma Thunderbirds on home court. The women will tip off at 6 p.m. and the men at 8 p.m. NBA Canada will be on hand, offering a special skills challenge and more for fans.

The volleyball program will host the Waterloo Warriors on Friday, January 15. The action starts at 6 p.m. for the women and 8 p.m. for the men in the St. Denis Centre. The men will travel to London on Sunday to play the Western Mustangs.

Women’s hockey will start the weekend at home, playing the Ryerson Rams at South Windsor Arena, Friday at 7:30 p.m. The squad will play a road game against the Brock Badgers on Sunday.

Men’s hockey plays two away, against Toronto on Friday and Guelph on Saturday, while the track and field team will compete in the Bob Eubanks Invitational meet in Allendale, Michigan.
