Trio to present masterworks for saxophone, flute and piano

Professional musicians with a UWindsor connection make up two-thirds of a trio presented in concert Sunday, January 24, by the School of Creative Arts.

The Jeffrey Price Trio features saxophonist Price, an instructor in the School of Music, as well as flutist Jaime Wagner, who has taught in the school, and pianist Ina Yoon.

Their program consists of beautiful works for saxophone, including two of the instrument’s masterworks: the Concertino de Camera by Jacques Ibert and the Concerto in E-flat major by Alexander Glazunov. Also included is Russell Peterson’s Trio #1 for flute, saxophone and piano—a stunning piece showcasing the combined talents of this trio.

The concert begins at 2:30 p.m. in the Heritage Room, Assumption Hall. Admission is $15, with a student rate of $5. Tickets are available at the door or in advance by phone at 519-253-3000, ext. 4212, or online at www.uwindsor.ca/music.
