Supreme Court justice to take up residence at Windsor Law

Two public events Wednesday at Windsor Law will mark a term as judge in residence for the Hon. Richard Wagner, justice of the Supreme Court of Canada.

Wagner will deliver a lunchtime lecture entitled Judicial Activism: a Misnomer in our Midst at noon October 26 in the Moot Court, Ron. W. Ianni Faculty of Law Building.

At 4 p.m. that same day, he will participate in a roundtable discussion exploring the ramifications of the duty of good faith in contract law. Panellists include:

  • Marcela Aroca, principal with Aroca Litigation;
  • Windsor law professors Jeff Berryman, Pascale Chapdelaine, and Jeffrey Hewitt; and
  • Tory Harris, professor of law at University of Detroit Mercy.

Their discussion will focus on the dialogue between Canadian common law, Quebec civil law, Indigenous law and U.S. law. This event will also take place in the Moor Court.
