Library surveying use of journals

Responses by UWindsor faculty, post-doctoral researchers and PhD students to a cross-Canada survey will offer important information and guidance to the Library Collections Review project, says Joan Dalton, associate university librarian.

The University of Windsor has partnered with 23 Canadian universities to survey faculty, post-doctoral fellows and PhD students regarding which journals they consider core to their research and teaching activities. The results will contribute to a national project examining how the consolidation of academic publishing has had an impact on universities and their libraries.

The survey is brief, and the opportunity to participate will close on Friday, February 3. More information is available on the website of the CRKN-Journal Usage Project.

Dalton invites questions about the survey at jdalton@uwindsor.ca or 519-253-3000, ext. 3212.
