Friday performance to wrap up Noiseborder Festival

Saxophonist Jeremy Brown will join the Noiseborder Ensemble in a concert Friday to close the Noiseborder Festival.

Brown is a music professor at the University of Calgary, lead tenor saxophonist with the Calgary Jazz Orchestra, and founding artistic director of the Rubbing Stone Ensemble, a new music ensemble based in Calgary.

The Noiseborder Ensemble creates and performs multimedia works featuring a combination of acoustic and electronic instruments as well as live processing and mixing of sound and video. Its members include Brent Lee (saxophones, composition, sound design), Sigi Torinus (video, visual design), Trevor Pittman (clarinets, composition), Nicholas Papador (percussion, composition), Chris McNamara (video, sound design) and Megumi Masaki (keyboards).

Their concert will open at 7:30 p.m. March 17 in Studio A, on the lower level of Lambton Tower. Admission is $20, with a student rate of $5. Order tickets in advance online or by phone at 519-263-3000, ext. 4212.
