Professor excited to see film find new audience

A 2009 drama by UWindsor alumnus Mike Stasko (BA 2002), a professor in the Department of Communications, Media, and Film, will enjoy release to video on demand Wednesday, November 1, and he couldn’t be happier.

“It’s exciting to see new life for an older piece of work,” says Stasko. He wrote, produced, directed, and played the lead in Iodine — and shared credit for editing the 97-minute feature film and creating its ominous musical score.

He notes that the production crew included a number of UWindsor students for the 15-day shoot in May 2008 on an island near Parry Sound.

Stasko plays John Clem, who heads north to investigate the disappearance of his estranged father. He meets his father’s colleague Avery (played by veteran actor Ray Wise) and begins a psychological game: does Avery have sinister intentions or is John slipping into paranoia?

Details on how to access the film are available at www.iodinemovie.com. Use the promo code BLUEROSE to receive a 10 per cent discount until March 2018.
