Ministerial visit to ElderCollege proves educational

Canada’s first federal minister for seniors, Filomena Tassi, visited Canterbury College on Jan. 24 to learn about ElderCollege, which offers courses to people aged 55 years or older.

Tassi met with volunteer instructors and students and came away impressed with the program, noting it helps to keep seniors active and engaged in the community.

Her visit was part of a cross-country tour which included a stop the same day at Family Services Windsor-Essex.

Registration for spring ElderCollege courses opens Feb. 13. Find details, including the full course listing, on the program website.
