Free registration opens for student eSports leagues

Unable to offer intramural leagues in person this spring, Lancer Rec instead presents new eSports leagues. Participation in any of these leagues will be free for students for the spring and summer sessions.

The spring/summer will be split into two different six-week sessions. Details for the second session will be announced at a later date.

The leagues offered in the first session include:

  • Rocket League 1v1 (on Xbox1, PS4, Nintendo Switch and computer), Sundays at 7 p.m.
  • Rocket League 2v2 (on Xbox1, PS4, Nintendo Switch and computer), Sundays at 8 p.m.
  • FIFA 20 (on Xbox1 and PS4), Mondays at 8 p.m.
  • Madden 20 (on Xbox1 and PS4), Tuesdays at 8 p.m.
  • NBA 2K20 (on Xbox1 and PS4), Wednesday at 8 p.m.
  • NHL 20 (on Xbox1 and PS4), Thursdays at 8 p.m.
  • Mario Kart (on Nintendo Switch), Fridays at 8 p.m.

Although days and times are set to organize each league, participants may reschedule games with opponents if there is a conflict. An eSports manager will be present to help with any questions or issues.

Participants will also have the ability to enter stats and scores into the Mission Control app immediately after each contest. Winners of leagues will receive a plaque, t-shirt, and an invite to our end of year Intramural Champions Banquet celebration.

Registration will close Friday, May 8, at 8 p.m. Leagues will officially begin the week of Sunday, May 10.
