A Holiday Market in the David Wilson Commons on Wednesday, Dec. 8, will feature the wares of artisans and small businesses in Windsor-Essex, says organizer Mary-Ann Rennie.

Special events manager in the Office of the President, she invites students, faculty, and staff, to come ready to shop.

“We’ll have so many great vendors that I really hope people come ready to show their support for local,” she says. “Whether you’re looking for handicrafts or homemade treats for yourself or as a gift, there will lots of reasons to open your wallets.”

Among the confirmed sellers are:

• visual arts students from the School of Creative Arts;
• Brand Dead T-shirts and more drawing on local nostalgia;
• Enza DeBlois Bakery treats to tickle your tastebuds;
• Dr. Disc Records for music and movies;
• Lucky Pups Bakery delectables to delight your dog;

and about a dozen more, with Rennie reporting more interest than space would accommodate.

The outdoor event is set for 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in a tent on the David Wilson Commons. Vendors and patrons must adhere to the University’s pandemic protocols.
