Quiz winner turns historical knowledge into prize

Nicole Young, receptionist in Student Health Services, aced Thursday’s Black History Month trivia quiz.

Her entry was drawn from all those which correctly identified August 1 as the 1834 date the Abolition of Slavery Act took effect in the British Empire, Jean Augustine as the author of the parliamentary motion that instituted Black History Month in Canada, and Henry and Mary Bibb as the founders of the Voice of the Fugitive newspaper.

Young will receive the 2022 Legacy Collexion poster by Robert Small (BA 1993) along with an assortment of swag from the University of Windsor Alumni Association. If you missed out, don’t despair: the quiz series will continue in DailyNews through the month.
