Student Ambassadors at Bright Lights

Student Ambassadors commemorate end-of-term with holiday celebration

A group of enthusiastic Student Ambassadors took some time away from their studies to celebrate their achievements, share in holiday festivities and take in a Windsor tradition – a stroll through the city’s Bright Lights festival in Jackson Park.

For the past three months, the team has used the new Unibuddy engagement platform to build meaningful connections with prospective students worldwide. The team has exchanged more than 20,000 messages with prospects through chat, enabling them to share their student experiences, handle inquiries from ask.uwindsor.ca and conduct virtual campus tours.

The Unibuddy system was launched earlier this fall and its reach has continued to grow. Campus partners are encouraged to consider how they might utilize the platform to facilitate connections with prospective students.

The holiday celebration was also an opportunity to share a farewell to longtime Student Ambassador Coordinator Ashley Quinton as she transitions to a new role in Recruitment, supporting digital communications and lead management activities.

"We are proud of the reach we've had towards connecting with prospective students," remarked Ashley. "The student team is making one-on-one connections with future Lancers on Unibuddy and their level of relationship-building is truly inspiring."

Former Recruitment Advisor Achol Bab is stepping into the part-time role of Student Ambassador Coordinator and looks forward to continuing in Enrolment, sharing her UWindsor pride, and working alongside this inspiring group of Student Ambassadors.

"I am excited to see what the future holds for our team of passionate and driven Student Ambassadors," remarked Achol. "We have created goals for the new year to take engagements with prospective students even further."
