Music school launching youth strings program

The School of Creative Arts will launch its Lab School: Strings on Saturday, Jan. 14, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. in the Armouries building.

The String Lab is a pre-college music school under the auspices of the School of Creative Arts offering beginner and intermediate level instruction in violin, viola, or cello to students ages 4 to 17.

Instruction and oversight will be delivered by the University of Windsor’s music faculty. Participating students will learn how to play or advance their foundational string skills. If they are interested, the lab will prepare students for SoCA’s university-level music school.

Though the launch is Jan. 14, parents may continue to register their children until Tuesday, Jan. 24. To find out more about the lab and to register your child, visit labschoolstrings.web.app.
