Anishinabe poet, activist, and essayist Marie Annharte Baker will conduct a free public reading online Tuesday, Jan. 24.

Hailing from the Little Saskatchewan First Nation and Winnipeg, she depicts the rarely portrayed urban Indigenous experience.

She is the author of the poetry collections Being on the Moon (1990), Coyote Columbus Café (1994), Exercises in Lip Pointing (2003), and Indigena Awry (2013) Miskwagoode (2022), and the essay collection AKA Inendagosekwe (2013).

Tuesday’s reading, which begins at 2:30 p.m. on MS Teams, is supported by the English department and the Office of the Vice-President, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion. Click here to attend.
