Campus departments and individuals can still register to bring holiday cheer to a local family in need.
The campus Adopt-a-Family campaign, an annual tradition, is recruiting sponsors to provide for local children in need this holiday season.
A reception Wednesday celebrated the contributions of the UWindsor community to the Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Society Foundation’s Adopt-a-Family program, which collects gifts for local families in need.
“The University’s assistance is immensely important,” said Tina Gatt, manager of community outreach at Windsor-Essex Children’s Aid Society. “This year, we helped 761 families, 41 of those sponsored by various departments at the University of Windsor. You have made a significant impact and brightened the holidays for those families.”
Departments and individuals across campus donated more than $27,000 in gifts to local families in need.
Dec. 4 is the delivery date for donations to the campus Adopt-a-Family effort.
The campus campaign for Adopt-a-Family is inviting sponsors for its holiday children’s charity.
Faculty of Law members who participated in the recent Adopt-a-Family campaign will receive a spirit prize of T-shirts, buttons, and a free lunch.
