UWindsor Chamber Choir performs at the Stratford Festival's Festival Theatre lobbyThe 2015-2015 academic year brought many exciting changes to the music program in SoCA, one being the revival of the UWindsor Chamber Choir.  During this past season the University heard and saw the presence of the Chamber Choir from performing during the Fall University Open House, entertaining for University functions and most recently in their Spring 2016 Tour of Southern Ontario.  Over 5 days, the Chamber Choir presented 15 concerts and workshops to Elementary, Middle, and Senior High Schools from Windsor to Toronto and performed a pre-show lobby concert in the Festival House of Canada’s Stratford Shakespearean Festival.
Alde Calgongcagong accompanies the choir in their London perfomanceThe UWindsor Chamber Choir performed works from their April 8th Spring Choral Concert while on tour.  Audiences rousingly welcomed hearing Brahms Neue Liebesliederwalter, Op 65, as well as new choral works by Runestad, Koppin, and Orbán, and arrangements of popular songs, Let the River Run, I Love You/What A Wonderful World, and Africa.  Choristers not only presented these works but had the opportunity to work with High School Choirs in workshop settings and meet UWindsor Music Alumni. It was a wonderful opportunity for us to connect with schools and other Ontario Communities. The example set Philip Adamson and Alde Calongcagong accompany the UWindsor Chamber Choirby our Alumni and the quality of their work with their choral ensembles reinforced the strength of the Music Program and the preparation they received while in SoCA at the University of Windsor.
