During this unprecedented COVID 19 pandemic, I would ask each of you to take the greatest precautions to protect yourself and others from this serious, and rapidly spreading, virus.  If you are feeling unwell, exhibiting any symptoms of illness, have travelled out of country, and/or have potentially come in contact with others exposed to the virus, please stay home, self-quarantine for the full 14 days as recommended by all health authorities, and/or seek medical treatment as necessary.

Dear Continuing Teacher Education (AQ, ABQ, PQP, IB) Instructors and Students:

By now you are likely aware that the University of Windsor Senate unanimously approved an Emergency Academic Plan in its efforts to effectively deal with COVID-19.

The Emergency Academic Plan will have an immediate impact on academic programs and includes:

  • All classes will be cancelled on Monday, March 16; Tuesday, March 17; and Wednesday, March 18.
  • This will provide time for faculty/instructors - after consultation with deans, associate deans and program coordinators - to alter the delivery of classes away from face to face to other forms of delivery including online.
  • Beginning on Thursday, March 19 all courses will resume in their new form of delivery.
  • Moving forward, an alternative delivery of examinations will also be considered.

We appreciate that the impact will be different for Continuing Teacher Education courses, which are nearly entirely online.  Please monitor your emails and the university website regularly for updates.  We will be endeavoring to send out regular updates from the Faculty of Education as well, by email and via our website.  We ask for your patience and understanding as our faculty and staff work diligently in this stressful context so that all courses can be completed with minimal risk to everyone.

COVID 19 has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization.  I would ask each of you to take the greatest precautions to protect yourself and others from this serious, and rapidly spreading, virus.  If you are feeling unwell, exhibiting any symptoms of illness, have travelled out of country, and/or have potentially come in contact with others exposed to the virus, please stay home, self-quarantine for the full 14 days as recommended by all health authorities, and/or seek medical treatment as necessary.

Please take good care.
