Graduate Students are invited to attend Mitacs Training course on Project Management on October 22-23, 2019.

About Mitacs

Since 2008, Mitacs has been offering professional development training to advanced degree graduates, supplementing their education and research experience with the tools necessary to succeed in today’s workforce. Each year, thousands participate in training courses to augment their university learning. Now it’s your turn. Our courses offer an interactive learning environment with small class sizes, typically 24 participants. They are facilitated by leading business and industry professionals who have undergone a competitive selection process. Our facilitators are subject matter experts in their respective fields and understand what it takes to succeed professionally. Facilitators deliver hands-on, engaging, and experiential learning.

Courses are offered at no charge to graduate students and postdoctoral fellows currently registered at a Canadian university. Course registration is based on first come, first served and can be made on EDGE. All sessions will include lunch for all participants.

Foundations of Project Management I – Windsor, ON (October 22 – 23, 2019)

Where: Four Points by Sheraton Windsor Downtown (Windsor Room) - 430 Ouellette Ave, Windsor, ON N9A 1B2

When: Tuesday & Wednesday, October 22 - 23, 2019, 9:00am – 5:00pm on both days

This 2-day course provides an experiential, collaborative learning experience to enable participants to integrate the principles of project management, team building, group dynamics and leadership that participants can apply immediately and in their future careers and lives. Participants experience the processes of collaborative planning and management and can see the benefits firsthand. Please note that this course also enable you to receive 14 hours of PMP education.

Learning Outcomes:

Through completing this course, participants will: 

  • Gain a clear understanding of foundational project management principles
  • Have an emphasized understanding of the importance of team and team dynamics within the context of project management and meeting project deadlines
