The purpose of the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Advisor is to act as an advocate, spokesperson, and a champion to provide support and promote a culture that values and supports equity, diversity, and inclusion throughout the Faculty of Engineering. 


The successful candidate will have:

  • A graduate degree in a related discipline, or equivalent post-secondary education combined with professional experience, directly dealing with projects related to EDI, as determined by the Faculty
  • Minimum of 3 years related experience advising and/or supporting Equity, Diversity and Inclusion at the post-secondary level
  • Experience in designing and delivering interactive and effective educational programs on topics related to or about EDI including the ability to answer questions and engage in related discussions
  • Knowledge of and commitment to diversity and cross-cultural differences and ability to deliver services and support towards individuals whose first language is not English
  • Ability to masterfully gather and analyze information
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Excellent consensus building, consultative decision-making, conflict resolution skills
  • Excellent communication (both oral and written), especially as it relates to academic relations
  • Experience delivering presentations to both small and large audiences
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality, exercise initiative, discretionary judgment, and act with tact and diplomacy
  • Demonstrated ability to be well versed in institutional policies and procedures within a post-secondary environment
  • Advanced knowledge of and ability to use spreadsheets, databases, and enterprise financial applications and/or systems
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively, independently and within a team environment.


  • Graduate degree in Engineering
  • Demonstrated ability to fundraise


Rate of Pay: 
Classification "VII" per Schedule A of the Collective Agreement
