PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 

The Athletic Facilities Services Manager is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operations of University of Windsor’s sport & recreation facilities. This includes the management and implementation of all operational needs associated with programming, maintenance of athletics and recreational facilities and fields and equipment. The Manager will also oversee the management and leadership of human resources and budgetary functions and will take an active role in the promotion and marketing of all University indoor and outdoor sport and recreation facilities. The incumbent will work closely with Facilities Services to ensure that the facilities are maintained and are able to be occupied at high utilization rates.


ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A University degree in a related field (e.g.  sport or recreation)
  • Three (3) to five (5) years’ experience in a facility management role with budgetary management responsibilities
  • Demonstrated experience in managing staff preferably within a unionized environment
  • Certified Pool/Spa Operator (CPO) through the National Swimming Pool Foundation
  • Facility Management Certificate (FMP) and previous experience with risk management in athletics and recreation environment
  • CPR and First Aid certified
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices relating to facilities and equipment management in athletics and recreation
  • Demonstrated experience in managing, marketing and promoting facilities rentals and membership sales
  • Experience with facility scheduling and event management
  • Experience in managing facilities projects including renewal and maintenance projects and working with budgets
  • Knowledge of Occupational Health & Safety Legislation and risk management procedures
  • Excellent oral/written communication, listening skills and customer service skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment in a self-directed manner
  • Excellent organization skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and execute projects to completion
  • Demonstrated attention to detail
  • Awareness of and sensitivity to individual, gender and cultural differences with a demonstrated commitment to the principles of equity, diversity and inclusion
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Publisher, PowerPoint and Outlook
  • Ability to work outside of normal business hours to support events

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experienced and/or certified in infill field surface maintenance
  • Experience with Active Net software
