PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Student Success Coordinator will improve student recruitment, retention and success by providing academic advising and supports. The incumbent is also responsible for coordinating recruitment and career activities for the Faculty of Nursing.


ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
  • Current College of Nurses of Ontario registration
  • Minimum three years of experience in a post-secondary student advising or counseling role
  • Current and thorough understanding of nursing undergraduate and graduate programs, and academic requirements for nursing programs
  • Demonstrated understanding of student development theory, effective coaching and advising models
  • Knowledge of other programs and courses offered at the University of Windsor• Excellent written, verbal, interpersonal, and professional communication skills
  • Comfortable speaking to audiences of all sizes
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Office 365, and scheduling programs (e.g. mySuccess)
  • Extensive knowledge and experience using the UWinsite Student Administration System (SAS) or similar student information program, and learning management software (e.g. Blackboard Learn)
  • Well-developed ability to identify and assess a situation to de-escalate students who are upset or in crisis, problem solve and refer students appropriately
  • Demonstrable ability to maintain strict confidentiality and discretion
  • Demonstrable ability work with minimal supervision
  • Ability to work as part of team
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as required (e.g. for events related to recruitment, etc.).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Thorough grasp of UWindsor academic bylaws/policies and Faculty of Nursing policies and procedures
  • Experience working as a nurse in a healthcare setting
Rate of Pay: 
Classification "VII" per Schedule A of the Collective Agreement
