Raising the Progress Pride Flag 2020

Congratulations to the team who got our progress pride flag raised over campus for the first time. To commemorate the occasion, and the start of Pride Week in Windsor, a small group of community members gathered outside of Chrysler Hall to witness the flag flying in all of its glory.

In 2021, the pride flag was raised by Ashlyne O'Neil, a Learning Specialist in the Office of Open Learning and member of the Pride Committee. The event was live streamed and attended by allies from various units on campus, including the UWSA and the Office of Student Experience.

In another step towards progress, the UWin Pride Committee, in partnership with Trans Wellness Ontario, raised the Trans Flag over campus in observance of Trans Day of Remembrance. The event drew campus and community members alike, with speeches from Joyceln Lorito, Janet MacIsaac, Sydney Brouillard-Coyle, and Victoria Pedri.

Raising the Progress Pride Flag in 2022

In 2022, we welcomed Fei Qin to raise the flag outside of Chrysler Hall. It was our most well-attended flag-raising event to date, and the UWin Pride Committee distributed some swag such as stickers and pencils. Check out the CBC article, featuring interviews with Joyceln Lorito and Fei Qin.
