Welcome to the Faculty of Nursing at University of Windsor!

The 2023 National Nursing Week carries the theme "Our Nurses, Our Future," highlighting the profound impact of nursing in improving global health. We recognize the compassion, career, strength, and courage nurses demonstrate daily in their work with the most vulnerable.

At UWindsor Faculty of Nursing, we are proud to be recognized for our visionary leadership and unwavering dedication to building responsive nursing education, advanced practice, and research programs that are urgently needed by communities worldwide. Our vision for the future builds on a long and proud history of educating nurses for professional practice, starting with our earliest roots in public health.

We invite you to explore our website to learn about our faculty and staff, our graduates, and our plans for the future. Envision yourself in our student-centred environment as you embark on your journey to become a nurse or pursue advanced studies, nurturing your lifelong pursuit of knowledge as a healthcare professional. In Fall 2017, we proudly welcomed the first students into our new PhD program, marking an important milestone in our commitment to shaping the future of nursing.

Across various settings such as emergencies, ICUs, long-term care, acute care, home care, public health, family clinics, NP Lead Clinics, supporting families during loss, contributing to pandemic processes or research, UWindsor nursing alumni make a tangible difference in the healthcare system and communities. They inspire others to believe in their inner strength while making a difference in the lives of others during health, illness, and crises.

Nestled in Windsor, Ontario, the southernmost region of Canada, our location offers a unique advantage for our students; they have a unique opportunity to learn about healthcare on both sides of the international border that we share with Detroit, Michigan. Our relationship with the United States holds tremendous opportunities for student and faculty interaction. Currently, our Sigma Theta Tau Chapter (Tau Upsilon) is part of Region 10, which includes schools in Michigan and Ohio. Our undergraduate nursing program offers unique opportunities to enhance the student experience. We provide a senior-level, one-semester exchange for qualified applicants to Sweden or Australia.

Other exciting opportunities include the University of Windsor's "Outstanding Scholar" program for undergraduate students interested in pursuing a mentorship relationship with nursing faculty engaged in research projects. All students can expect a supportive learning environment with exceptional faculty and staff devoted to their success.

We welcome you to explore Windsor!
