Coronavirus updates

Hope that everyone is enjoying the start of the spring/summer semester and remaining safe during these unprecedented times! Due to the ongoing unforeseen circumstances of the COVID-19 pandemic, in order to maintain your health and safety during this time, the University of Windsor has informed us that courses will be offered primarily online and will be monitored on a regular basis in Fall 2020.

At OPUS, we continue to strive forward in our best efforts and offer you the same level of support and services such as our Drug and Dental Plan, Scholarships & Bursaries, Transit Windsor Bus Pass and interactive webinars. Furthermore, we will be offering more opportunities to win prizes and more ways for you to stay connected with OPUS as our valued members. We continue to engage with various community partners to see how we can address your concerns during the pandemic, continue to be at the forefront of change and still offer the same great student experience you have come to expect at the University of Windsor.

We appreciate your interest, your dedication and the opportunity to meet you in person in the near future as we get through these moments together. If you require assistance from our insurance provider Green Shield Canada (GSC), the Green Shield Support Center link can be found here. If you’re feeling overwhelmed or down more often than not, BEACON therapy is guided by a registered mental health professional – find out what it can do for you. Get started today at www.mindbeacon.com/gsc-students. Students can access BEACON through the OPUS benefits plan, using the psychology benefit $500 per year combined, including $300 per year for the BEACON program. You may use BEACON wherever and whenever you choose – all on your phone, tablet, or computer – with no appointments to keep. And your BEACON therapy will help you develop crucial lifelong coping skills.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact us via email at opus@uwindsor.ca and stay informed by following us on social media, Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
