Winter Semester Parking Options:

Students:

You have two options as a result of the recent announcement on December 17 by the President of the University of Windsor.

  1. Partial Refund

Return your parking permit to our office, where your permit will be held and reserved for you during the period classes remain virtual.  A pro-rated refund will be offered to all permit holders who have completed this process.

When face-to-face classes resume, you may pick up your permit by making an appointment with our office again, above . A pro-rated refund will be applied for the time the permit was in our possession. It is the obligation of the student to complete this process for a pro-rated refund to be applicable. This refund will not be applicable retroactively once face-to-face classes resume if the student has not previously initiated this process.

 

  1. Full Refund

If you know for certain that you will not be on campus for the entire Winter semester, you may return your permit by either mail or by booking an appointment to drop it off at our office.

If mailing in your permit, the refund will be processed once the permit is received at our office. We will contact you via email to book a time to process the refund over the phone.

**PLEASE NOTE: students who seek and obtain a full refund at time of surrender will not be entitled to repurchase a permit for the winter semester when face-to-face classes resume on campus.

These students have the option of parking in any of the University’s pay and display lots. 

 

Staff and Faculty:

For those faculty and staff who requested the reinstatement of their permit effective January 1, 2022, you may put your request on hold, providing you did not already pick up your new permit, by emailing us at parking@uwindsor.ca.

If you have already picked up your new permit it will be necessary for you to email us of your intention to request a further hold by December 23rd at 3:00 pm. The permit MUST physically be returned to us by January 7th, 2022 or deductions will activate on the first payroll in January. 

 You may return your permit by mail or booking an appointment.

*****A permit is not considered suspended until our office has received it.

 

Staff and Faculty whose permits have been previously issued and active for the Fall semester.

You may request a permit cancellation by returning the permit to our office. The permit may be mailed back to us, or you may book an appointment online to return your permit to our office.

Once Parking Services receives the permit, Payroll will be advised to cancel deductions going forward.

****However, should you want to reinstate your permit again before the renewal date of June 30, 2022, the only option to do so will be a one-time lump sum payment by debit or credit card. Reinstating payroll parking deductions are not permitted once the cancellation has been initiated until the new permit renewal process reconvenes on July 1, 2022.

 

Parking Office

The Parking Office is Open for Remote Service.   Walk -in service is by appointment only.   Click this link to book an in person appointment between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Monday to Friday.

All emails sent to parking@uwindsor.ca will be checked.

Parking options are available to:

The University of Windsor has over 2,800 parking spaces on campus. Access to these lots is controlled by parking permits, meters and gates during enforcement hours (Every day from 7am to 11pm).

Payments are accepted by:

  • Debit Card
  • UWin Card
  • Cash

Unfortunately, we no longer accept personal cheques.
