Research Interests:

I work to improve our understanding of the interactions between land management and aquatic ecosystems, looking to improve lake recovery rates from current issues such as eutrophication and associate hypoxia; and from emerging contaminants, specifically microplastics.

Areas of expertise:

  • Hydrology and glaciology
  • Hydrochemical modelling and monitoring
  • Aquatic biogeochemistry and ecology
  • Sediment and solute dynamics
  • Spatial analysis and GIS

  • PhD, 2010, Hydroecology, University of Birmingham (UK)
  • MSc, 2006, Catchment Dynamics and Management, University of Leeds (UK)
  • BSc, 2005, Geography, University of Newcastle-Upon-Tyne (UK)

Current lab members:

  • Mercedes Lavoy (MSc Candidate)
  • Dr. Dilshad Masih (Postdoctoral Researcher)
  • Brent Nawrocki (Laboratory Technician)
  • Mitch Hall (Lab Technician)
