UWindsor Canada Research Chair (CRC) Equity, Diversity & Inclusion Commitment & Strategy Statement
In accordance with the Government of Canada and the Canada Research Chair Program (CRCP), the University of Windsor provides the following commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion:
The University of Windsor is committed to employment equity and supports achieving and maintaining a diverse and inclusive representation amongst the Canada Research Chair (CRC) holders at UWindsor along with the goal of excellence in research and Highly Qualified Personnel (HQP) training and development.
To fulfill UWindsor’s commitment, the following strategies are outlined to raise awareness and fulfill the benefits of equity, diversity and inclusion:
- Adherence to the University of Windsor “Employment and Educational Equity Policy”
- A structured recruitment process with the Presidential Commission on Employment Equity (PCEE). PCEE ensures equity in all aspects of the hiring process.
- Supporting diversity in Appointments and Search committees and requiring that all committee members attend the mandatory employment equity and unconscious bias training facilitated by PCEE.
- Promote and foster self-declaration of applicants and self-identification of employees to assist in achieving and maintaining equity targets and promoting initiatives towards equity.
