Move In Day Information 2020

*As we have information below for move-in being finalized, more information will be sent out with your room assignment and this site will be updated regularly. 

Everyone will be required to wear a mask in all residence outdoor and indoor common spaces, please come prepared.

Students are asked to restrict their move-in helpers to two people maximum.

Pets are not allowed in residence; please leave your pets at home.

Carts will be available to assist you with bringing your items to your room.

Saturday, September 5 & Sunday, September 6 

9:00 am - 5:00 pm 


Process

Alumni Hall 

  • Check in will occur in the parking lot of Alumni Hall, off of Union Street
  • Please have photo ID ready
  • Please have a phone with data ready and charged as you will be required to use it for check in
  • You will be stopped at the parking entrance for check-in and then directed to unloading location
  • Make sure you arrive within the allowed time frame as students will not be permitted to move in after 5:00pm
  • Carts will be available to sign out from this same location. 
    • The carts are 39 1/2"L x 28 1/2" size or almost 18 cubic feet

When booking your move-in time please ensure you select the correct category according to your room assignment and level at the university.  You will receive a confirmation email to the email you provide which also provide cancellation information in case you need to reschedule your day/time.  If you have any difficulties with this process please email resservices@uwindsor.ca with the subject line Move In Scheduling.

  • This information is for students who are NOT currently living in Canada and will require to be quarantined.
  • If you are living in Canada and do not require to be quarantined or will quarantine off-campus, please follow move-in instructions for either First Year students or Beyond First Year students depending on what level you are
  • Quarantine accommodations will be offered to students who will be living in residence for at least the fall semester.   Please send an email to resservices@uwindsor.ca, if you plan to stay with us during the fall semester.

Room Assignment Info

If you have already applied and paid your residence deposit, your room assignment will be sent to the email address you provided on your application in mid to late July. 

For Fall 2020 all rooms will be assigned as single occupancy (one person per bedroom). Note that if you have applied for a double room your room assignment could change to a double room in Winter 2021.

Bathrooms will be shared with one other person in Alumni Hall.  It is the student’s responsibility to clean the bathroom in the suite.                                                                                                     

  • Students will be required to follow physical distancing requirements as per provincial regulations. 
  • Students will be required to wear masks in all common spaces where physical distancing is not possible
