Move-in Information - Fall 2021

We are excited to welcome you to residence in the Fall and hope you will find all the information you need to help make your move-in process as simple as possible! Please read though all the sections below for the information you need and email us at resservices@uwindsor.ca if you have any questions/concerns.

  • Everyone will be required to wear a mask in all residence outdoor and indoor common spaces, please come prepared.
  • Students are asked to restrict their move-in helpers to two people maximum
  • Pets are not allowed in residence, please leave your pets at home
  • Volunteers and carts will be avilable to assist you with bringing your items to your room

First Year Students

Date & Time:

Cartier Hall – Sunday, September 5

  • 9:00am - 4:30pm – you must schedule a move-in appointment

Alumni Hall – Saturday, September 4 & Sunday, September 5

  • 9:00am - 4:30pm – you must schedule a move-in appointment

Process:

  • You will schedule a move-in time using the scheduling system, link below
  • Check-in for all first-year residents is drive-thru style and will occur in the parking lot of the CEI (Centre for Engineering Innovation)
  • You can use this address for your GPS: 700 California Ave, Windsor, ON N9B 2Z2
  • Pull your car up to the tents – do not get out of your vehicle
  • Have photo ID ready
  • Have a phone with data ready and charged as you will be required to use it for check in
  • Once you have received your keys you will be directed to your unloading location
  • Make sure you arrive as close as possible to your scheduled time frame
  • Students will not be permitted to move in after 4:30pm without prior arrangements
  • Carts will be available to sign out from your unloading location
    • The carts are 39 1/2"L x 28 1/2" size or almost 18 cubic feet

When booking your move-in time please ensure you select the correct category. First Year students should select either First Year – Cartier Hall or First Year – Alumni Hall, according to your room assignment.  You will receive a confirmation email to the email you provide which also provides cancellation information in case you need to reschedule your day/time.  If you have any difficulties with this process, please email resservices@uwindsor.ca with the subject line Move In Scheduling.

Upper Year/Beyond First Year Students

Date & Time:

All buildings: Tuesday, September 7 – Saturday, September 11

  • 9:00am-4:30pm – you must schedule a move-in appointment
    • You will schedule a move-in time using the scheduling system, link below
    • Check-in will occur at the main Residence Services office in Vanier Hall
    • You can use this address for your GPS: 2585 Wyandotte St W, Windsor, ON N9B 1K6, it is for the area across the street
    • Temporarily park in the U-shaped driveway in front of Vanier Hall, enter through main Vanier Hall doors
    • Have photo ID ready
    • Have a phone with data available ready and charged as you will be required to use it for check in
    • Make sure you arrive as close as possible to your scheduled appointment
    • Students will not be permitted to move in after 4:30pm without prior arrangements
    • If you are moving into Laurier Hall you can remain parked in U-shaped driveway while you unload but must move once you have completed your unloading
    • If you are moving into Alumni Hall you will proceed to the parking lot at the back of Alumni once you have received your keys
    • Carts will be available to sign out from your residence building
      • The carts are 39 1/2"L x 28 1/2" size or almost 18 cubic feet

International Students

  • If you are currently living in Canada, please follow move-in instructions for either First Year students or Upper Year/Beyond First Year students, depending on the category you fall under
  • We will not be offering on-campus quarantine this year, please visit this site for quarantine information:  https://www.uwindsor.ca/residence/1337/quarantine-information
    • Note: We will continue to update this information as Provincial and Federal regulations change
  • If you will be arriving from an international destination prior to moving into residence, please email resservices@uwindsor.ca for further information on your pre-move in requirements

We strongly encourage all residence students to get vaccinated prior to moving into residence.   Residence is a community living environment and, as a result, you will have more interactions with other people than you would in your home environment. Being vaccinated helps to ensure your safety as well as the safety of all members of our community.

  • Students will be required to follow physical distancing requirements as per provincial regulations.
