Move-in Information - Fall 2022

We are getting excited to welcome you to campus!

The following information will help ensure your move-in goes as smoothly as possible and please reach out to resservices@uwindsor.ca if you have any additional questions or will need additional assistance for move in.

  • Students are asked to restrict their move-in helpers to two people maximum.

  • Pets are not allowed in residence; please leave your pets at home.

  • Volunteers and carts will be available to assist you with bringing your items to your room but you are welcome to bring your own dollies and carts to help speed up the process.

  • Please be prepared to wear a mask indoors. Our current mask policy requires everyone to wear a mask if they are unable to maintain 2 meters distance, which will be challenging to do on move-in day.  Our mask policy the day of move-in will reflect the campus policy so please watch for that information.

Move In Day – Sunday, Sep 4th, 2022

Move-ins will take place at:

  • CEI Parking Lot
    • between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm at the CEI Parking Lot
      • Click your building below to book a move-in time for Sunday, Sep 4th, 2022  
  • Residence Office, Vanier Hall, Room 49
    • between 3:30 pm and 7:45 pm 
    • you do not have to book a move-in time

Process:

  • You will need to schedule a move-in time
  • Check-in for all residents on move-in day is drive-thru style and will occur in the parking lot of the CEI (Centre for Engineering Innovation)
  • You can use this address for your GPS: 700 California Ave, Windsor, ON N9B 2Z2
  • Pull your car up to the tents – do not get out of your vehicle
  • Have photo ID ready
  • Have a phone with data ready and charged as you will be required to use it for check in
  • Once you have received your keys you will be directed to your unloading location
  • Make sure you arrive as close as possible to your scheduled time frame
  • Carts will be available to sign out from your unloading location
    • The carts are 39 1/2"L x 28 1/2" size or almost 18 cubic feet

MONDAY, SEPTEMBER 5 - THERE WILL BE NO MOVE-INS ON THIS DAY


Moving in Tuesday, Sep 6th through Friday, Sep 9th and Sunday, Sep 11 

SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 10 - THERE WILL BE NO MOVE-INS ON THIS DAY

Process:

  • You will need to schedule a move-in time using the booking calendar system shown below
  • Check-in will occur at the main Residence Services office in Vanier Hall
  • You can use this address for your GPS: 2585 Wyandotte St W, Windsor, ON N9B 1K6, it is for the area across the street
  • Temporarily park in the U-shaped driveway in front of Vanier Hall, enter through main Vanier Hall doors
  • Have photo ID ready
  • Have a phone with data available ready and charged as you will be required to use it for check in
  • Make sure you arrive as close as possible to your scheduled appointment
  • If you are moving into Cartier Hall or Laurier Hall, you can remain parked in U-shaped driveway while you unload but must move once you have completed your unloading
  • If you are moving into Alumni Hall, you will proceed to the parking lot at the back of Alumni once you have received your keys
  • Carts will be available to sign out from your residence building
    • The carts are 39 1/2"L x 28 1/2" size or almost 18 cubic feet

International Students

  • Please follow move-in instructions for the planned date of your arrival
  • We will not be offering on-campus quarantine this year, you must secure quarantine accommodations elsewhere if necessary
