Update December 5, 2022 - A Message from President Gordon & Provost Weir
Hello UWindsor students, faculty and staff,
With an eye towards the end of the term, exams, and the start of the winter semester in the new year, we’d like to take an opportunity to thank the campus community for their on-going cooperation and dedication to keeping each other as healthy and safe as possible. Doing so has allowed us to enjoy a successful in-person semester including the return of in-person activities and events that are foundational to the university experience.
Update November 17, 2022 - Feeling sick? Do not come to campus.
The University of Windsor reminds students, faculty, staff and visitors that anyone feeling ill must not attend campus. With cases of respiratory illnesses (COVID-19, influenza, RSV) rising throughout the province, we ask our campus community to stay home when feeling sick.
This includes instances where you may have symptoms which resemble COVID-19, yet receive a negative result from a COVID-19 rapid test. Please, stay home until symptoms have resolved. While potentially not COVID-19 (or a false negative), the illness could be influenza (flu) which is noted by Ontario Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Kieran Moore to be "particularly virulent."
Update November 9, 2022 - Strict Compliance to Mask Policy is Required
Students, faculty, staff and visitors are required to comply with the COVID-19 Mask Policy to the fullest extent possible.
At this time, the University of Windsor requires wearing a mask whenever physical distancing of two metres/six feet (2m / 6 ft.) cannot be maintained. However, wearing masks when indoors regardless of physical distancing is strongly recommended.
Update October 27, 2022 - Campus days at WECHU Public Health Clinic
The Windsor-Essex County Health Unit (WECHU) is hosting an on-going public health vaccination clinic in the Katzman Lounge of Vanier Hall.
Next week, on Tuesday, November 1 and Thursday, November 3, dedicated walk-in vaccination clinics for the UWindsor community will be held between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Flu shots and the COVID-19 vaccine, including the bivalent booster (formulated to defend against the prevailing Omicron variant), will be available to all ages.
Update September 15, 2022 - Return to Campus Update
The University of Windsor reminds students, faculty and staff of the COVID-19 Mask Policy which requires that individuals wear a mask in all indoor spaces where physical distancing of two metres cannot be maintained. It is the responsibility of anyone who attends campus to bring a mask so that it can be worn in these indoor spaces. Masks will be provided for incidental replacement (ie. dropped, lost or soiled masks).
