Research Impact Award

Application Deadline: Friday, February 15, 2019

Purpose:
To recognize, encourage, and reward faculty whose research efforts have been particularly significant and outstanding, and are also recognized nationally, and internationally. 

Criteria:
The committee will be examining the application packages for evidence of:

  • National and international research recognition
  • Research results that have added substantially to the basic body of knowledge, contributed to the improvement of the quality of life, and/or encouraged additional research

Eligibility:
Faculty of Science regular faculty members (tenure or tenure-track).

Nomination Process:
Nominations may be made by colleagues, students or through self-nomination.

Application Packages will include:

  • Nomination letter or application detailing the reasons for the submission.
  • One letter of support
  • CV

Application packages should be submitted electronically to:

Review Process:
Application packages will be circulated to the Award Committee electronically for individual review.  The committee will then meet to discuss the applications, and reach a decision.

The Award Committee, struck and chaired by the Dean of Science, will consist of Department Heads (or their designates).

Award:
The Award will be given to a maximum of one individual each year.  Successful applicants will receive a $2000 research grant, and a certificate, that will be presented at the Faculty of Science Spring & Shout event on April 3, 2019.
