Collaborative & Interdisciplinary Award

Application Deadline: Friday, February 15, 2019

Purpose:
To recognize, encourage, and reward faculty who been instrumental in developing interdisciplinary and/or collaborative research and teaching programs.    

Criteria:
The committee will be examining the application packages for evidence of (but not limited to):

  • Development, participation, or implementation of interdisciplinary and/or collaborative projects

Eligibility:
All ranks of Science faculty members (tenure, tenure-track, AAS, Sessional Lecturers, Limited Term).

Nomination Process:
Nominations may be made by colleagues, students or through self-nomination.  Nominees must not have received this award during the previous 5 years.

Application Packages will include:

  1. Nomination letter or application detailing the reasons for the submission.
  2. One letter of support
  3. CV

Application packages should be submitted electronically to:

Review Process:
Application packages will be circulated to the Award Committee electronically for individual review.  The committee will then meet to discuss the applications, and reach a decision.

The Award Committee, struck and chaired by the Dean of Science, will consist of Department Heads (or their designates).

Award:
The Award will be given to a maximum of one individual each year.  Successful applicants will receive a $500 research grant, and a certificate, that will be presented at the Faculty of Science Spring & Shout event on April 3, 2019.
