Forensic Science is best learned through hands-on experience. The forensic programs provide such experiences through:
- hands-on workshops, with the potential to lead such workshops in upper years
- laboratories that develop evidence analysis techniques and skills
- courses in digital photography, forensic identification, forensic entomology, and forensic anthropology
- access to a moot court setting for evidence presentation and development of expert witness skills
- opportunities for forensic-focussed Destination Science courses
- practicum / internship with a scientist or forensic professional (required for BFS students)
- opportunities for conducting research (required for BFS students)
- Faculty of Science Service Learning and Internship courses
Students can be recognized for their experiential learning acheivements through the LEAD medallion program.
