Booking Appointments


Your first video or phone appointment with a therapist can usually be scheduled within a few days after your intake appointment. During busy times of the year, however, you may have to wait a little longer. 

"I am a new client"

If it is your first visit to the Student Counselling Centre, you must email scc@uwindsor.ca and express your interest in starting therapy. From there, you will be made a phone or video appointment with our intake coordinator and she will help determine the best route for you to meet your therapeutic goals. 

"I am a regular client"

If you have been to the SCC in the past 6 months, you can email scc@uwindsor.ca to schedule a phone or video appointment with your assigned therapist. 

"I was away for the summer"

If it is a new school year and you are a returning client, you will need to email scc@uwindsor.ca and request to schedule a phone or video appointment with the therapist you had prior to your break.

Eligibility


Students wishing to make an appointment must be registered at the University of Windsor (full-time or part-time) to receive counselling.

If you are not registered in the present term but plan to be registered in the upcoming term, you may be eligible to receive services. Please contact scc@uwindsor.ca to learn more information. 

Please note that sessions at SCC are based on registration status, not extended health care coverage status.  Additionally, SCC is separate from Student Health Services and may have different service eligibility criteria.

Reminders


You will be emailed appointment reminders to the email account you provided to us at the time of starting services. 

Cancelling Appointments


Please inform us as soon as possible if you cannot avoid missing an appointment. 

To cancel an appointment during and after hours, please email scc@uwindsor.ca with your name, and the date and time of the appointment that you would like to cancel.

We request that students provide notice of cancellation. Missing appointments without notice may limit your eligibility to receive further follow-up. A $10 "no show" fee also applies if you do not cancel your appointment.
