On February 10, 2012, the University of Windsor's Senate approved a Strategic Research Plan (SRP) 2012-2016.
This SRP defines the following thematic research areas of strategic priority at the University of Windsor.
- Advanced Materials
- Automotive Research and Innovation
- Culture and Social Change
- Environment and Ecosystems
- Health and Wellness
Cross Border Strategies has also been identified as an emerging thematic area of priority.
The Strategic Research Plan Implementation Committee has since recast the SRP in terms of Grand Challenges and Aspirations, and this strategy was approved by Senate on November 8, 2013.
