OUTREACH & RECRUITMENT

Public Affairs & Communications

Public Affairs & Communications (PAC) can help you tell a great story. Telling that story can be important to articulating the significance and impact of your or your colleagues’ work; engaging the community in academic, research or creative projects; promoting your students’ achievements, enhancing recruitment activity; or raising awareness of your department’s initiative and achievements. These stories also play a key role in shaping the University’s story, and in demonstrating success in fulfilling its Strategic Priorities. Institutional stories are a critical way of showing the community – and others on campus -- the important work going on in your department, whether it be in student learning, research, creative activity, or community engagement. At PAC, we want to help you tell those stories.

PAC has many responsibilities, including:

  • Overseeing products including the University alumni magazine View, the Annual Report, and pieces in support of student recruitment.
  • Conducting outreach to local, provincial, and national media, including producing news releases and providing sources of informed comment, as well as helping internal clients devise communications strategies.
  • Developing websites for the University's high-level pages.
  • Publishing the University’s e-newsletter, Daily News.
  • Maintaining the University’s social media accounts.
  • Undertaking marketing initiatives.

In conjunction with those responsibilities, PAC offers a number of services to UWindsor faculty, such as:

  • Training in writing and using social media.
  • Providing support for developing online messaging.
  • Curating a library of images and photos.
  • Designing graphics, including animation, to highlight important information.
  • Providing support for website organization, structure, and maintenance.
  • Providing access to institutional logos and style guides.
