Alum Profile: Bianca Gualdieri

Artsci Alum: Bianca Gualdieri

My name is Bianca Gualdieri. I graduated from the ArtSci program in 2021 with a double major in Biology and Psychology. My favourite things about the ArtSci program was how I could individualize my degree to my interest and the many avenues I could take post-graduation. For my undergrad research, I completed a research project that focused on the coronavirus pandemic and the resulting socioeconomic consequences, focusing on vulnerable populations. My paper examined vulnerable populations in terms of the adverse effects of the pandemic on the economy, inequalities that have become prevalent due to the virus, and the distribution of vaccines.                                                     Quote: "I would recommend the program to anyone who has a passion for multiple disciplines and wants to adopt an interdisciplinary way of thinking"

As of 2022, I am in my second year of my Bachelor of Education at the University of Windsor and hope one day to get hired as a permanent teacher at a local school board! ArtSci helped me to get where I am because it allowed me to adopt a new way of thinking. I view the world using an interdisciplinary approach and can apply the knowledge I’ve learned in one discipline to other disciplines. ArtSci helped me specifically with my teaching career because I can teach from an interdisciplinary lens which helps advance critical thinking, cognitive development, and deepens the learning experience. I feel so lucky to have graduated from the ArtSci program because of all the valuable skills I have acquired from being in this program. I would recommend the program to anyone who has a passion for multiple disciplines and wants to adopt an interdisciplinary way of thinking.
