Canterbury College offers four kinds of Theology Programs.
The first program is an occasion series of workshops and other special events which are offered for clergy and laity as continuing education opportunities. A range of subjects and distinguished speakers is made available so that people can take advantage of any number of learning circumstances.
The second program is a certificate program in basic theology. The courses in this program are meant to satisfy a general interest in theology. This course of study is also designed to meet the guidelines and requirements of the Anglican Diocese of Huron for those who are preparing to be licensed by the Bishop of Huron as Lay Readers.
The third program is a Master of Arts in Pastoral Theology. This degree is awarded by Assumption University College in conjunction with Canterbury College and Iona College - the three religiously based denominational colleges affiliated with the University of Windsor. This ecumenical advanced degree is ideal for those who are seeking to be effective lay leaders in their respective congregations. Those aspiring to be ordained as Vocational Deacons in the Anglican Church of Canada are encouraged to take this course of study. Some of these courses may also be transfered to Ashland Theological Seminary in Detroit as credit towards a Master of Divinity Degree offered by that institution.
The fourth program consists of courses which are a part of a Doctor of Ministry degree program awarded by Ashland Theological College in Ashland, Ohio. Canterbury College provides the "Canadian Context" portion of that degree for Canadian students.
