Caribbean dinner to support African Diaspora Youth Conference

A dinner Friday at the Caribbean Centre will raise funds in support of the 2015 African Diaspora Youth Conference.

Scheduled for May 7 to 9, the conference is for secondary school students interested in learning about the African Diaspora and the role it has played in their development. It provides a forum for students to discuss with their peers the concerns they face as youth growing up in a North American society.

The March 27 dinner offers a choice of island cuisine—jerk chicken, rice, peas and salad—or all-you-can-eat pasta. It begins at 6 p.m. at 2410 Central Avenue. Tickets are $20 in advance or $25 at the door.
