Mississauga-Streetsville MPP Bob Delaney, parliamentary assistant to the minister of energy, stopped in to tour the Cross-Border Institute during a visit to Windsor Thursday.
Director Bill Anderson discussed the work of the institute and its traffic lab, which uses sensors, transponders and GPS data to analyze the movement of goods through the transportation corridor. The information is critical for managing supply chains and planning border infrastructure.
Delaney showed a keen interest in the research and pledged to return to the institute on his next visit to the area.
Dr. Anderson had a chance to share his work with a national audience when the CBC program Power and Politics broadcast a special episode from UWindsor’s downtown campus Wednesday. Watch the entire program on the CBC website.
